TCPS holds Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Students and staff cutting a ribbon

Taylor County Primary School held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, 4/11 to officially open their Book Vending Machine.  This 6-month project was overseen by one of their teachers, Mrs. Pam Blue, and was funded by Taylor County Primary School staff and the local community through an online cake auction and donations from various civic organizations and businesses.  The students were thrilled to be part of this event and to be one of the first kids to use the Book Vending Machine.  Students will have a chance to earn a book of their own by good behavior or academic achievement.  “TCPS would like to thank Big Bend Marine, Capital City Bank Michael Lynn, Inc., Ragans Ace Hardware, Optimist Club, Jay’s Pharmacy, Tricounty Cellular, and Goodman’s BBQ for their contributions and the numerous bakers in town that contributed to our cake auction.  If it was not for the backing of our community, we would not have completed this project so quickly” said Mrs. Brannen (TCPS Principal).
