4-H Florida Power and Light Speech Contest

6th Grade Countywide Winners

Last week the 4th – 6th graders class winners participated in the annual 4-H Speech Contest.  This contest is now sponsored by Florida Power & Light.  The school winners for 4th Grade were: Honorable Mention: Adelina Werner, 3rd Place: Lana Moody, 2nd Place: Landen Vinsen and 1st Place: Jonah Jackson.  The school winners for 5th grade were: Honorable Mention: Cody Jones, 3rd Place: Ashlee Sparkman, 2nd Place: Lacey Tharpe and 1st Place: Ayden Parga.  The school winners for 6th grade were: Honorable Mention Jasmen Bogere, 3rd place- Autumn Meacham, 2nd place-Kylie Crowley and 1st place- Lauren Connell.  All of the students from Honorable Mention – 1st Place advanced to yesterday’s County-wide Contest.  Each student gave their speech again and the Countywide winners in the 4th and 5th grade division are: Honorable Mention Cody Jones –“ My 3 Favorite Sports”, 3rd Place Landen Vinson- ”My Dog Molly”, 2nd Place Ayden Parga “ Greek Gods and Goddesses”, and first place Lacey Tharpe “ Show Life”. The 6th grade Countywide winners in the 6th Grade division are: 3rd place Jasmen Bogere – “History of Christmas, 2nd place Kylie Crowley- “The Mean Old Baby Sitter”, and first place Autumn Meacham “ My Little Vegas”.   The Taylor County School District is proud of all of the hard work these students along with their parents put into their speech and look forward to next year’s contest.  We also appreciate Florida Power & Light (FPL) for sponsoring this event and for Matt Mohler from FPL for joining us yesterday.
